Mattos Filho Institute
The Mattos Filho Institute is an initiative by our partners with a mission to expand access to justice and legal education. Its key goals are: encourage pro bono work, grant scholarships to diversify the profile of law professionals, develop new methodologies to disseminate legal knowledge, and support initiatives by civil societies geared towards diversity and citizenship.
Investment fund
As a way for the Institute to maintain its operation with sustainable subsidies over time, an investment fund will be set up. This fund will be managed independently and autonomously from Mattos Filho, with capital being raised through financial contributions from our partners. As a result, 20% of the annual earnings of these investments will be converted to donations to the Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Institute, while granting each investor the option to increase this percentage. In addition, resources will be raised through direct donations from partners.
Contribute to society
The Institute is an important initiative that will broaden the scope through which our partners can contribute to society, giving back to it some of the benefits that they have earned. The Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Institute will be structured to permit it to become more expressive over time, increasingly making a social impact on Brazil and with a long term perspective.
